The Creative Therapies in the Helping Relationship: Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care Please join me, Michelle April, at this special Saint Paul University conference as I facilitate a creativity-based workshop(s) intended for helping professionals. Intimacy with Nature: Art, nature and the sacred dialogue Participants will experience an art-based dialogue with natural objects providing a means to self-care and higher-level attunement both with their own natures and with the essence of “other” in healing relationships. The conference will be held March 8-10, 2018. |

Summer EXPRESSIVE ART WORKSHOPS for Social Workers and Counsellors "Walk the (creative) talk" with Michelle April, Counsellor and Art Therapist This summer workshop series is hands-on expressive art workshop for social workers, counsellors and counsellors-in-training to uncover your personal creative process so that you may inspire creativity in others. No art making experience is required. Expand your: Personal artistic vocabulary Creative capacity in talk therapy Experiential learning Use of metaphors Understanding of art based research Workshop availability: Fridays 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (one hour lunch), three participants maximum per workshop The summer workshops are finished. Register via email at [email protected] or using the contact page on this website Cost: $150 Includes: 6 hour workshop, art supplies, bottomless cup of tea, signed certificate of completion You may send a e-transfer to [email protected] in advance of the workshop (preferred), or bring cash or cheque on the day of the workshop What to bring: Bring yourself. Bring a journalling notebook and pen. Bring yourself wearing old clothes because we are making art. Also, and only if inclined, bring something personal to the workshop that 'stands out to you'. Have you saved an old letter, is there a special photo that you gravitate toward? Is there a recurring thought or idea that you are attached to? Bring it! No worries if nothing jumps out at you.
